Babies are a gift and a joy. When family and friends have babies you want to give them the best. But it is not always possible with today's economy. Or is it?
It seems that there is always someone I know who is pregnant. I do not like to buy items off of a registry. Most of the times parents are scanning items that they really do not need or will ever use. So what should you do?
It really depends. With each gift I make I try not to keep duplicating the same gift.
I love to crochet. Most of my family and friends know that. If I make a blanket for one person, I do not use the same pattern for someone else.
Or I might make a custom made receiving blanket. It really is inexpensive when you use a yard of fabric, either the same children/baby material or coordinating colors. Check out this post to see how to make it.
There is also the clearance racks. At stores like Sears, Carson Pirie Scott, JC Penny, Walmart, KMart... I think you get the picture. All these stores have a clearance rack. Clearance is not bad. Stores need to get rid of merchandise to make room for the new stock. So it is there way to mark down items to make the room they need. You can find some great gifts and still stay within budget.
So no matter what you do or what you spend as long as it comes from the heart that is all that matters.
